A feature length interview with Daniel Tolson, founder of Tolson Institute. Daniel’s early life was littered with difficulties with a learning disability and chronic fatigue. He spent a lot of time in physical and mental therapy. This gave him limiting beliefs which plagued his life in his 20’s. He felt he wasn’t smart enough, not educated enough with no degree; this wasn’t the end of his story.
Daniel’s first role was as a real estate agent in Australia which he got from his uncle. He then went into a family business as a pawnbroker. He would buy second-hand goods and then resell for a profit. He then developed this business online with eBay and he could sell across Australia rather than locally. He left this business because he wanted to expand the business and the family disagreed.
Daniel then went to Dubai, and he was excited by the hustle and bustle and the mentality of the expats in Dubai. He has an unfortunate experience in business, and he ended up on a construction site doing physical labour. This played into his limiting beliefs.
He went back to Australia and joined Emirates as a plane assistant, which was a source of great fun and experiences. His business coaching business developed with a chance meeting with a coach on a plane. He then went into coaching with studying behavioural psychology, NLP, and personal development. His highest value was based on resilience.
Daniel now has specialised in emotional intelligence and resilience. He helps people in their careers, and entrepreneurs to set goals for their personalities. The soft skills are so important, and he can transform people’s lives with this type of coaching. His future focus will be on job matching and helping businesses find their best fit for the role.
